Definition
Stems of grass or plants that grow below ground. Rhizomes reach out to other root growth of grass or plants in order to form new grass culms, or stems. Since they nurture the plant or grass until it is strong enough to grow on its own, it is important that proper grass care and lawn upkeep be done to preserve and create new rhizomes.
